What Is PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana?
Launched in February 2024, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is one of India's largest residential solar schemes. The government aims to install rooftop solar on 1 crore homes across India, offering free electricity and direct subsidies to eligible homeowners.
For residents of Gurgaon and Haryana, this is a transformational opportunity — electricity bills here can run ₹5,000–₹20,000 per month, and solar can eliminate most or all of that cost.
How Much Subsidy Will You Get?
The subsidy is calculated based on system capacity:

Who Is Eligible?
- You must be an Indian citizen and a residential electricity consumer
- The system must be installed on your own property (owned or long-term leased)
- You must have an active electricity connection from DHBVN or UHBVN (Haryana's discoms)
- Only grid-connected (on-grid) systems qualify — off-grid or hybrid systems do not qualify for the subsidy

- Apply for a rooftop solar system
