PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is the Government of India's flagship rooftop solar scheme, launched in February 2024. It provides direct subsidies to households to install rooftop solar systems and also promises 300 units of free electricity per month to eligible beneficiaries. Voltmen Solar is an officially empanelled vendor under this scheme in Gurgaon.
The central government subsidy under PM Surya Ghar is: ₹30,000/kW for the first 2 kW (max ₹60,000 for ≤2 kW systems), ₹18,000/kW for the 3rd kW (total ₹78,000 for 3 kW systems), and ₹78,000 (flat cap) for systems above 3 kW. This is credited directly to your bank account via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) within 45–60 days of commissioning.
Yes. Gurgaon falls under the DHBVN (Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) distribution circle, which is fully eligible for PM Surya Ghar subsidies. Voltmen Solar handles all the DHBVN registration, portal submission, and subsidy disbursement paperwork on your behalf.
The central PM Surya Ghar subsidy is the primary incentive for residential customers. Haryana occasionally offers additional state-level incentives for commercial and industrial solar — our team stays updated on all active schemes and will inform you of any additional benefits you may be eligible for during your free survey.
Our process: (1) Free site survey & shadow analysis at your property. (2) Custom system design & detailed quotation. (3) Agreement signing & advance payment. (4) Material procurement (panels, inverter, cables). (5) Physical installation — typically 2–3 working days. (6) DHBVN net metering application (45–60 days for approval). (7) PM Surya Ghar subsidy portal registration. (8) Subsidy credited to your bank account. Your system generates clean power from Day 1 of installation.
The physical rooftop installation for a typical 3–5 kW residential system takes 2–3 working days. Larger industrial or commercial installations may take 5–10 days depending on system size and structural complexity. Our team works efficiently without compromising on safety or quality.
We recommend being present or having a trusted representative during the installation. Our team will walk you through the system components and explain the monitoring setup on completion. However, if you're unavailable, we can manage the installation and give you a full walkthrough afterward.
For most residential installations in Gurgaon, you need DHBVN's net metering approval (which we apply for on your behalf). If you live in a society or apartment complex, you'll also need the RWA's (Resident Welfare Association's) written permission. Some areas may require a structural NOC — our engineers assess this during the free site survey.
We exclusively install Tier-1 Monocrystalline PERC Bifacial solar panels from MNRE-approved manufacturers including Adani Solar, Waaree, and REC Solar. Bifacial panels generate power from both sides, improving yield by 8–12% compared to standard monofacial modules. All panels carry a 25-year linear performance warranty.
Standard grid-tied solar systems shut down automatically during grid outages — this is a mandatory safety requirement under CEA regulations to protect DISCOM linemen working on the grid. If you need power during outages, you need a hybrid system with battery backup. Our 5 kWh lithium battery add-on provides 4–6 hours of backup for essential loads.
Net metering lets you export excess solar electricity to the DHBVN grid during the day when you're generating more than you consume. This exported power is credited in units against your future electricity consumption. In Gurgaon's sunny months (March–September), most solar customers generate a surplus and accumulate large credits — offsetting their winter and night-time grid usage. Many customers bring annual bills to near zero.
A rule of thumb is approximately 10–12 sq ft of shadow-free roof area per kW of solar capacity. So a 3 kW system needs 30–36 sq ft, and a 5 kW system needs 50–60 sq ft. Our site engineers will verify exact available area, shadow patterns, and roof orientation during your free survey.
Modern monocrystalline solar panels have a rated lifespan of 25 years with a linear performance warranty guaranteeing minimum 80% output at year 25. Inverters typically last 10–15 years (with a 5-year warranty, extendable to 10 years). Mounting structures are galvanised or powder-coated for corrosion resistance and designed to last 25+ years. Proper annual maintenance significantly extends system life.
Typical installed costs (before subsidy) in Gurgaon: 2 kW — ₹1.35 lakh, 3 kW — ₹1.95 lakh, 5 kW — ₹3.20 lakh, 8 kW — ₹4.90 lakh, 10 kW — ₹6.00 lakh. After PM Surya Ghar subsidy, a 3 kW system effectively costs ~₹1.17 lakh. These are comprehensive all-inclusive costs — panels, inverter, mounting, cables, earthing, monitoring, installation, and net meter application.
For residential systems in Gurgaon, payback periods are typically 2.2–3.5 years after subsidy. The exact figure depends on your current electricity tariff, system size, and monthly consumption. Customers paying ₹6,000–₹10,000/month in bills typically see payback within 2.5–3 years, followed by free electricity for the remaining 20+ years of the system life.
Yes. We offer solar loans and EMI options through our banking partners. A 3 kW system (after subsidy, ~₹1.17 lakh) can be financed at approximately ₹2,500–₹3,000/month over 48 months — which is often less than your current electricity bill. Zero-down-payment options are available for eligible applicants.
Most Gurgaon residential customers reduce their DHBVN bills by 80–100% after installing solar. A 5 kW system generates approximately 600–650 kWh/month in Gurgaon — enough to fully power a 3–4 BHK home's average consumption. Customers previously paying ₹7,000–₹12,000/month commonly bring their bills to ₹0–₹200/month after solar.
Solar systems are very low maintenance. The primary task is periodic panel cleaning — Gurgaon's dust and pollution can reduce output by 15–30% if panels aren't cleaned. We recommend cleaning every 2–3 months (more frequently in summer). An annual electrical inspection to check connections, earthing, and inverter performance is also advisable. Our AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) covers all of this from ₹4,999/year.
Voltmen Solar provides: (1) 25-year linear performance warranty on solar panels. (2) 10-year product warranty on panels. (3) 5-year manufacturer warranty on inverters (extendable to 10 years). (4) 2-year workmanship warranty on all installation work. (5) 10-year structural warranty on mounting systems. All warranty claims are handled directly by Voltmen Solar — you have a single point of contact.
Any component failure under warranty is addressed within 48–72 hours of your complaint. For inverter faults, our team can often diagnose issues remotely via the monitoring system. Physical inspections and replacements are carried out by our in-house engineers — no third-party sub-contractors.
